My AI chatbot project has been pushed to the side temporarily because my sister and I have been working non-stop with our ecommerce store. We are doing extremely well in sales, but the biggest issue we are facing right now is that locals seem unwilling or unbothered to actually use the ecommerce store. They view the catalogue online and then they prefer to have a customized experience in that they will present to you the payment options, payment schedule, delivery times, delivery locations, etc. that is convenient to them. So we find ourselves strategizing every single day because instead of making things easier, i.e. you find the item you want online, purchase it online and we deliver to you, it's not at all like that. It becomes very tedious for everyone involved.

I expect that this hurdle of the general population not really knowing how or unwilling to purchase things online is the reason why almost all online stores have failed. They use the online stores simply as a catalogue and if they are interested in purchasing the items they will ask you for your location so that they can view the item and purchase it in person. So the big question at the moment is what can we do so that most people will go through the hassle of attempting to make a purchase online?

I think back to the time when I started buying things online and how the addiction started. My very first buy/sell transactions started around 2005-2006 when I was in China, and they were for digital products. The first time I wanted to purchase tangible items must have been around 2007 or 2008. It started with buying mobile phone credit on the store because I could make the purchase 24/7 and because I was always awake in the dead of night, it was convenient to buy credit even after the stores were closed. The convenience stores were open but the language barrier gave me anxiety so there was also the aspect of avoiding social interactions that made me want to stick to ecommerce solutions to my problems.

It was 2013 when I decided to give Taobao a proper try, and by 2014 I felt like a pro. There wasn't anything I couldn't do, and by then my command of the language was already efficient enough for such transactions. There isn't anything you can think of that wouldn't be on Taobao, how amazing is that? How amazing would it be to bring such an experience to people here in Seychelles? There will be obstacles for sure, but are they unsurmountable?

I spent the weekend populating the chatbot database. What's funny is that I'm not even populating it with medical-related data but instead I am developing the AI's personality and responses from users who might throw in words just to see how the bot will respond. So far so good, I love it but I am also developing the website so that part is taking a lot more time than I had anticipated or planned.

While planning out the design and layout of the site, I am also trying to figure out the best way to monetize the site.

Left the office at exactly 3:10pm yesterday and I woke up today with no troubles on my mind. My next step has to involve a lot of strategy because I don't want to fall flat on my face.

First thing's first: I have to update my CV. It doesn't have to be perfect but it needs to be properly updated so that I can apply to anything and at least I'll have options.

Secondly, I will have to really boost advertising so that the online store draws-in enough potential buyers.

Thirdly, I need to really work on what I mentioned below - the chatbot project that I really want to build. I've been testing a few platforms and softwares but nothing is cutting it. I wanted to simply use a bot that would allow me to focus on populating the database but I'm starting to think it's something I will have to build from scratch.

While I was collecting my files from the office computer yesterday I found a logo I purchased a while back that I had almost completely forgotten about. At least that's one thing I don't have to worry about.

I sent my boss a text message earlier telling him that I will sort out my files tomorrow and that "we'll just leave it at that". I thought he'd get the message but he didn't, and asked me to explain what I mean. I told him that I'll just get another job. He thinks we should talk in person but these days whenever we "talk in person" anything related to my welfare at the office, we end up arguing. I spent the past few months trying to sort out HR at our office. I was just looking out for the well-being of my colleagues and I, making sure that the Seychellois staff are paid mandatory pension each month and that really backfired. Turns out, I should just look after my own well-being and not really care about anyone else. Lesson learnt.

I was also manipulated into taking up a senior management position but just in name. Whenever I tried to manage my department and duties, I am being micromanaged by my boss. The direction is always welcome, but micromanaging a capable person is just ridiculous.

This decision has been over a year in the making, but things have got really bad at the office because I have developed a dislike for most of the staff's lack of work ethics as well. They abuse petty cash (always buying snacks and anything else they need during the month without logging), they spend 4 hours a day eating (1 hour to go get breakfast, another hour to eat it, then 1 hour to get lunch and another hour to eat it) - whatever happened to eating breakfast before you get to work in the morning? I can't deal with office hours starting at 8:45am and everyone leaving at 3:55 - 4:00pm on the dot. But most of all, I can't tolerate the fact that there is a lack of structure and the abuse happens because our boss does not know how to professionally and properly manage the junior staff.

In all relationships, there is a phase when the arguments become too frequent because one person cares too much. That is usually the beginning of the end because it is often very quickly followed by the person who cares feeling indifferent to the outcome of the relationship. That is where I am today. I don't want to resolve issues through communication anymore. I'll just head down to the office tomorrow and complete a full day of handing over as much as I can and deleting all my personal information on the computer.

What's my next step? I don't know. What I do know is that this is too repetitive and it's affecting my mental health. The cycle keeps repeating itself and I'm going to end up staying in the same job for the rest of my life if I don't get out now. I've spent so many years studying and if I can't sort myself out after all these years then they were just years wasted on paper.

I slept really late again and woke up this afternoon! I need to change this habit quickly because I have to go back to the office on Monday. I was busy trying to learn how to work Django which is a web framework written in Python. The problem with trying to learn a new coding language at this age is experience. I already know that there's an open-source framework out there so why would I need to learn the language and code from scratch? If I didn't know about the possibilities out there, I would actually learn the language.

I went as far as following the instructions down to a T, and completed the tutorial. Everything was up and running and I went to bed. I then sat up, started scribbling in my notebook about the site I should actually build and I thought it would be better to use a chatbot AI of some sort instead. One that is open-source so I could customize it freely, and the only thing I want to populate is the database. That's what will take a lot of time. So I came across this article:
Open Source Chatbots showcasing a list of chatbots that can be used to develop projects such as the one I want to develop. The following are recommended (in no particular order) by Botpress:

- Microsoft Bot Framework
- Botkit
- Botpress (incidentally this article was published by Botpress)
- Rasa
- Wit.ai
- Botonic
- Claudia Bot Builder
- Tock
- Botman
- Bottender
- DeepPavlov
- Golem

*Please note that I have taken the liberty to remove from the list the ones that I found that are not available for free.

So for today I will be exploring the different bots and trying to figure out if any of them can be used for my project. Essentially, I want one that has a database used to store answers. So that if a user submits a specific keyword, the bot automatically replies using a predetermined answer. It has to be such that if the user is typing a new keyword but related to the previous keyword, the bot understands that the conversation follows from what was previously written as opposed to starting a whole new conversation (this is the biggest issue with bots). In addition, it should be able to save scripts of conversations with the user so that I can build better and improve.

I went to bed in the dead of night and woke up close to midday today, I spent hours sorting out the security of my online accounts. I had to change my passwords to passphrases instead and anything related to cryptocurrency has been moved to an private email address on Protonmail, which is not 100% secure according to themselves, but is one of the most secure email providers today and techies are claiming it to be more secure than Gmail with its end-to-end encryption. Raise your hand if you don't fully understand what encryption is.

It's going to take a while for me to completely transfer all the important accounts to Protonmail, but I'll keep my Gmail for the other random things I do online. I don't really use email for personal communication anymore anyway so using email to keep in touch with people is not really my primary concern.

Yesterday when I wrote the blog post that I did, I started thinking about what it was I could really see myself doing - something that I feel I could really do for the rest of my life. You know when they tell you to do something that you love and the bonus would be if it earned you enough to make ends meet? Something I've consistently done was blogging. I went from writing diaries as a child to blogging throughout my 20s. I would take down my blogs whenever I'd feel as though I've written far too much about myself and it could impact my career in some way. Or if I wrote too much about all kinds of things instead of keeping the site more niched to draw-in a certain demographic. It's just that I have a number of passions and interests that I can't really just stick to one topic all the time.

But yeah, that's it: the dream would be a self-employed blogger. I'm pretty sure my default writing style is that of a blogger/diarist. But how do I turn something of a hobby into something that can bring in enough money for me to survive on?

I currently have a domain name that is reserved for developing a Medicine-related site. I will be building a database but it is still in its planning stages and I cannot divulge too much in detail right now.

But the big question is: how can I merge my current ideas to the current Web 3.0 trend? What would make it something current or at least something that is scalable and not something that will remain stagnant? The objective is not to turn the idea into a downloadable app but rather to make it compatible for both browser and mobile users.

The second question is: if I were to use such a website, what features would it need to have for me to be willing to pay or contribute to use it? The problem with relying heavily on ads to maintain a website is the part where you have to go begging around for money from advertisers as soon as the economy is hit with something big. But I'll have to figure it all out eventually.

This past week I've taken a step away from my computer to take a proper break from technical things. I've been playing Mafia City which my sister was obsessing about and now I've also been pulled into it. I will have a lot less time to play games next week as I'll have to go back to the office and put out fires. Turns out my staff caught Covid and has taken the government-imposed 2 weeks home quarantine. This means I'll have to go back to the office where everything has been kept pending for the past 3 weeks.

I'm at this point in my life where I have absolutely no drive to even work anymore. Nothing seems worth it. My leave was supposed to give me the time I needed to rest, clear my mind and get some kind of clarity on my next step in life. Instead, I've just stressed myself about the work that has been left pending until I get back. I need to spend the next few months clearing debt that I have and try applying for anything else overseas. I just don't want to live here anymore, life is just too dull and overpriced here. Ever since I've returned, there's been a serious drop in my lifestyle. I can't afford anything, it takes me forever to save money and things that I need are not available in the country.

In crypto news, we're in a "polar bear" market. This is the time to buy, buy, buy! But my sister and I are building our online store and that has taken funds that I can normally play with so unfortunately, I seem to be missing out on the dips. I'm the type who has money to burn during the bull market, and no money to buy the market-crash dips. I saw this interesting meme earlier where they had 2 Bitcoin stalls. One stall had BTC priced at $35k with nobody buying and the other stall right next to it had a long queue of people buying BTC at $69k. This is fact where people really do buy high and sell low. A few weeks ago someone asked me if I can guarantee that the cryptocurrency will be here to stay. This is why I don't like to push people into buying crypto: nothing is guaranteed. There are some of us who believe in DeFi and the rest do not. My advice would be for people to read as much as they can, watch Youtube videos from authority in the industry and finally: make your own decisions and conclusions about cryptocurrency.

Last year when I first jumped into the world of cryptocurrency, I followed the "dollar cost averaging" investment method. It's the safest way to get a return of your investment but it's a long-term method. When the market crashes the way it has done last May and the way it has done this past week, you start seeing red in your own portfolio for the coins or tokens you jumped at quite "late" and that's never a good feeling. My strategy will have to change a bit this year. One thing that is constant seems to be the bull market and the bear market. Once in a while you'll see a crash and that's the best time for the "latecomers" to jump in. For instance, exactly last year this time I remember DOT going for around $16 and today it's at $18. It was $16 just the other day. A lot of altcoin prices have gone back down to when I first started and that gives me confidence that it's always possible to get in on the high marketcap coins when the market crashes. So I will be doing a bit of DCA and reserve some funds for bigger buys whenever the market crashes.

I'm finally feeling back to my old self after being down with a migraine since the 15th of January. I expect it started because the battery and vape juice of the vape I was using started to die and I wasn't vaping as much as I had been. I was vaping 50mg nicotine on the disposables since the guy I buy my vape stock at ran out of the specific coils I use for Novo 4. I had no choice but to get some disposables and they only have really strong 5% nicotine here in Seychelles. So I went from vaping my regular 3mg nicotine to 50mg in a matter of weeks. So the terrible migraine I got was probably a withdrawal symptom of nicotine. The guy now has some coils for my vape but I've decided to take a much needed break from vaping in general. If I go to Dubai end of next month then I can buy some coils for myself then.

Yesterday someone contacted me about NFTs. They wanted to know more about it and how to get into it. It's not uncommon for people I don't hear from in a long time to reach out to me for information and for this reason, I have this website up. At the moment, I'm only just using it to blog my journey into Web 3.0 but eventually I would like to have very detailed and informative information for anyone who are looking into learn more about blockchain technology and the decentralized web.

My first-ever NFT was a Nature Collectible I purchased from Porini Foundation, in partnership with Nature Seychelles. They were issued on July 2021 and I bought one as soon as I found out about it, i.e. when it was published on the Seychelles Nation.

Going back to the person's question: how can she start with NFTs? Well, there's no better way than @OpenSea.io. Now with the Polygon integration, I think they've dissolved gas fees so anyone who want to sell any kind of NFT can create an account and start selling! NFTs can be absolutely anything digital, not just artwork: documents, domains, music, video - anything! The currency used on OpenSea is Ethereum. It seems there are already a few Seychellois buying and selling NFTs on OpenSea so it's worth checking out. I also recommend using Metamask which is a crypto wallet.

Today is my 39th birthday! I spent all day yesterday in bed, sick with a terrible migraine. I felt as though my head was going to explode. I spent the first few hours of the day today feeling equally horrible so I asked my twin sister if she could drive me to the pharmacy to get sumatriptan. When we got back I took 100mg of it and within the first 15 minutes of laying down my head, I was trying to hold down my vomit but I failed to. Thankfully my bedroom is right next to the bathroom. I felt better so I waited for an hour or so and asked my sister to cook some fried rice. We were supposed to go get pizza but I thought I might vomit it out and waste expensive food so I decided to go with the cheaper and more delicious option.

We then went to get my mum at the airport (the whole family is back from Maldives). I also saw Doole (ex-colleague) at the airport and it was so wonderful to see my old friend again.

I only just got back to the apartment and it's exactly 10pm. I want to spend the remaining 2 hours of my birthday answering a few questions I found online:
40 Questions to Ask Yourself Each Year. I haven't gone through them just yet, so I haven't had that much time to go over any of the questions and carefully think about the answers. I want to complete them today itself so I shall answer them as fast and as truthful as possible.

Without further ado, here are the 40 questions and answers ("this year" will be from my birthday in 2021 up until today).

1. What did you do this year that you’d never done before?
Bought cryptocurrency.

2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions?
I didn't have any to keep. I'm not really a believer in New Year resolutions.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
No.

5. What cities/states/countries did you visit?
None.

6. What would you like to have next year that you lacked this year?
A visa/travel stamp on my passport.

7. What date(s) from this year will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
31st December, 2021. Because it was the day that Betty White passed away.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Graduating with a Bachelor's Degree of Medicine in Chinese Medicine - which I had to complete in Chinese.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Failure to save as much money as I could have because I spent too much and unnecessarily.

10. What other hardships did you face?
Emotional hardships from a relationship that should have ended as soon as it began.

11. Did you suffer illness or injury?
No.

12. What was the best thing you bought?
The first thing that comes to mind is the wireless earphones that I bought because I kept accidentally tugging at the wires of the old ones I had. It was quite expensive (about SCR 1,700) but well worth it!

13. Whose behavior merited celebration?
My twin sister. She's been even more patient than I have been this past year!

14. Whose behavior made you appalled?
My own. I used to be the most calmest, amazing person I used to know. I think I need to leave my job because it's a toxic environment for me.

15. Where did most of your money go?
Paying off debt.

16. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
I got really excited about going to Dubai with my colleagues but my boss then felt it would be too expensive so he cancelled the trip. Thanks boss!

17. What song will always remind you of this year?
I don't think there will be one, it hasn't been one of those years unfortunately. Everything went by so quickly.

18. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. Happier or sadder? Sadder.
ii. Thinner or fatter? The same weight.
iii. Richer or poorer? Richer.

19. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Save money.

20. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Spend money.

21. How will you be spending Christmas?
Christmas 2022? Hopefully in Maldives with the COMPLETE family!

22. Did you fall in love this year?
Yes, I fell in love and I also fell out of it.

23. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
No.

24. What was your favorite show?
My favourite show will always be FRIENDS, always and forever!

25. What was the best book you read?
I didn't read a single book this year. I havne't read a single book in a very long time.

26. What was your greatest musical discovery of the year?
None.

27. What was your favorite film?
First thing that comes to mind: Carol (2015). In all fairness, I haven't really watched much at all since the year I watched that.

28. What was your favorite meal?
Probably the vegan Beyond Burger. Except I made it vegetarian adding cheese to it and it was probably the best thing I ate this year.

29. What did you want and get?
I wanted to see all the family together again, happy and healthy. That's what I got. That's all I'll ever wish for each year.

30. What did you want and not get?
I was thinking of getting an iPhone 12 pro max but I didn't get it because it was sold out when I went to buy it at Cable & Wireless. I now plan to get an iPhone 13 Pro Max when/if I go to Dubai this year.

31. What did you do on your birthday?
Last year we were stuck at home on restriction of movement imposed by the government. So the BF brought a large cake, some booze and a home made card for me. This birthday I was sick in bed until we had to go pick up my mother at the airport and despite the pain, I'm grateful to have everyone I need still in my life.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
If I had been able to graduate at my university instead of attending the graduation ceremony online.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept of the year?
Oh gosh, if it's one thing I really need to improve on, it's my fashion concept. To describe it: DOA.

34. What kept you sane?
Having my own room with a door that shuts out the rest of the world.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you admire the most?
Betty White.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Let's leave politics away from this website, for now at least.

37. Who did you miss?
My Bubbles.

38. Who was the best new person you met?
Nobody comes to mind, I don't think I met anyone new this year (covid restrictions and all). But I realized that my buddy Clara is an amazing person. She was amazing to me when I was in China and has been amazing to me despite our distance.

39. What valuable life lesson did you learn this year?
Work experience is important!

40. What is a quote that sums up your year?
He who will not economize will have to agonize - Confucius.

I was over on Reddit again and I came across an interesting topic about someone wanting feedback on their crypto domains.

I wrote a whole response but I decided not to post it there. Instead, I've re-written parts of it and I will share my perspective here on my site instead:

I'm a huge fan of the .x crypto TLD - you can tell by my choice of this site's domain name. But it took me quite a while to come up with a name to be honest. I thought about registering my name, my company or anything else and then I came up with this one (version3.x which by the way I think is genius).

Realistically, the OP could probably sell a few of the domains he listed down, esp. to buyers in the business of e.g. selling adapters. They could also register e.g. adapters.x as a brand name. Very clear and to-the-point.

However, I have a few concerns at the moment with attempting to flip crypto domains:
1. The .x domains cost about $100 per domain name. The generic ones might cost that much or maybe even cost a bit more. If you were thinking of reselling them, it would be above $100. If I were selling adapters for instance, how bad would I want adapters.x? What can you do with a crypto domain, my transactions will be public so would I want that kind of information out there? Maybe or maybe not. The cost of a domain name always depends on how much the buyer is willing to pay for it. In all fairness, all the good crypto domains are either taken or blocked by UD. UD has disabled/blocked registration for many countries, companies, names, words, etc. that would normally be very high-priced, and they hold sales specifically for the above. I believe they've strategically done this to as much as possible prevent cybersquatting and also to keep the profits to themselves.

2. We don't yet know which TLD will be the .com equivalent - would it be .crypto, .blockchain, .x, or something else? Would crypto domaining work in the same way as the classic ones? With new Web2 TLDs popping up left and right and you now can be "something.anything" what would incentivize potential buyers to buy a generic.crypto domain instead of mycompany.crypto?

3. Web 3.0 will also be using a whole new technology to possibly replace search engines, check out this this article here from Bitcoinist - Cyber: A Search Engine for Web 3. The way I see it, search engine optimization will either: (i) evolve, (ii)be left for pre-web 3 websites, (iii) be a thing of the past. The reason why generic domains is a huge thing pre-Web3 is because of the search engines. Google's algorithm picks up keywords and generic.coms have some kind of priority (I don't know if it's still part of their algorithm, but it was a few years ago when I was all about SEO). I don't think Web3 will follow in the exact same direction, word out is that it will be a whole other thing.

4. People who don't really know much about crypto domains (and that's most people at the moment) will assume that .x is for adult domains. Plural words that end with 's' and then add a .x right after that might not really be a good idea. I mean, here's an example: dogs.x. I don't know, maybe that's just the way I would look at it.

To anyone interested in investing and eventually flipping crypto domains I would advise you to tread carefully. I would expect that domain names in certain categories would always sell well, esp. adult industry (s.x, xxx.x). But buying hundreds of non-popular generic .x, well that doesn't really make much sense to me today. It's going to have to be one of those things that someone would have to do and it's either a hit or miss.

Yesterday I briefly shared my stance on cryptocurrency and the project I'm really eyeing right now is Dfinity's Internet Computer (ICP). As someone who has always been obsessed about web technology, I took a break from this obsession to focus on my medical degree in Chinese Medicine. Now with circumstances being the way they are (pandemic and all) my focus this year will be to continue collecting "paper" online - trying to get into MBA and MscPH programmes - and to also spend more time learning and catching up on things I've missed while I was gone, simultaneously juggling all these with my day job.

I've been looking for a Web3 email option and today I encountered Dmail which will run on ICP. Here's a really nice article on Dmail:

Someone contacted me today asking for assistance in setting up an account so that they can start crypto trading. This is something that is long overdue for this person because they have been asking me the same thing for more than half a year now and the reason why it's taken this long is that they believe that they never have enough to even start. What's my personal opinion on starting: just do it. Is there a minimum one would need to start investing in cryptocurrency? Yes: a few dollars. If you are in Seychelles and want to jump into it, my suggestion is that you create an account on Binance.

Binance is a centralized exchange, i.e. storage and trades includes a "third party" (in this case Binance) and your investments remain in your Binance account wallet but can be transferred or sold at any time. I personally use it and that's why I recommend it, I've not encountered any issues withdrawing to a local bank account. Eventually you will want to diversify your holdings into different platforms and technologies using both decentralized exchanges and centralized exchanges, cold wallets and hot wallets. But you'll have enough time to explore all that. Cryptocurrency is still unregulated here in Seychelles so now is the time to get in because they don't really care if you are buying or selling. If you are just starting out, play around with any amount you feel comfortable with - even just a few dollars - just to get the hang of things. I have a colleague who has spent all of last year reading about cryptocurrency and all the dos and don'ts but is too scared to lose $10 so he hasn't dipped his little toe in the water. I honestly believe this is something he'll regret in a few years.

I've never really shared the crypto I've invested in. When it comes to investments, you assume all the risks in the same way you suffer all the losses and reap all the rewards. You do your due diligence and you go with your gut. So anything I share with you is not financial advice. There are all kinds of cryptocurrency, read and learn as much as you can and go for the plunge if you have the guts to. I consider most to be investments but some are more calculated than others. A few I "degened" into them i.e. went in with no research whatsoever.

I've got into a lot of crypto in the past year but I've bought and sold and here are the few that I am currently holding, incl. their price per coin to the dollar today (12-Jan-2022 @21:52), in random order:

- Bitcoin (BTC): 1BTC = $43,793.16
- Polkadot (DOT): 1DOT = $27.35
- Solana (SOL): 1SOL = $151.44
- Cardano (ADA): 1ADA = $1.28
- Polygon (MATIC): 1MATIC = $2.36
- Internet Computer (ICP): 1ICP = $34.94
- The Graph (GRT): 1GRT = $0.5918
- PancakeSwap (CAKE): 1CAKE = $11.30
- Ripple (XRP): 1XRP = $0.7915
- Chainlink (LINK): 1LINK = $26.36
- EverGrow Coin (EGC): 1EGC = $0.0000011418

As I delve deeper into blockchain technology, incl. cryptocurrency, I really want to document my experiences and thoughts throughout the whole process. It would be great to know how I develop and in the future I can look back and laugh at my mistakes and learn from them or applaud my choice of direction.

This year I want to further expand my portfolio by adding some more crypto to the mix. My thoughts right now:
- Bittorrent (BTT), 1BTT = $0.002601: I had some and then sold at a high. I now want to take it more seriously.
- More Internet Computer: I didn't buy into it when it was launched and hit its current ATH. It then became the launghing stock of the crypto world when it dipped below what many expected. Now I'm starting to believe it might be something worth investing in.
- Filecoin (FIL), 1FIL = $30.35: I think I lost $50 on this coin when I bought high and had to execute my exit. But as you can see from my #1, #2, #3 that I really want to get into file storage and P2Ps. I mean, I am using them just to host this website so this is just the beginning for these types.
- Decentraland (MANA), 1MANA = $3.05: because everyone's getting into gaming and metaverse coins.
- The Sandbox (SAND), 1SAND = $5.09: same as above. - I'll be getting into researching the next big thing, so hopefully I can get in early.

I have my reservations on Ethereum. I know it's a great investment with a lot of potential but I don't know if it would be wiser for me to invest more in Solana and Polygon instead. I literally sold all my ETH a few months ago and I'm still okay with my decision.

In other news, my boss has pushed my flight to Dubai for the end of February. He's freaking out because of the soaring Covid cases in both Seychelles and Dubai. This is great because it will allow me to save more for shopping and also save money to buy Facebook's Oculus Quest 2 which I really want to have so that I can explore the metaverse in all its glory.

Today is my older sister's birthday and I wish I were in Maldives with the rest of my family celebrating this wonderful day, but here I am at home in my stuffy apartment spending half of my day trying to figure out the best way to have a blockchain website and the other half of my day on Reddit. Thank you Air Seychelles for cancelling my ticket.

I just thought I'd write a few notes on here about the resources I've used to get this site up and running. I'm still thinking about whether or not I should just use a template for my site (probably the best option for those with no time to design their own) or if I should actually spend time designing it from scratch. I was even thinking about using a generated ASCII as a logo but that would be quite funny and old-school - it's Web 3.0 and not Web 1.0 after all.

So here are the resources I've used, feel free to do the same:
- Purchase crypto domain @Unstoppabledomains.com (aka "UD"), right now you can mint it for free on the Polygon network.
UD has got a lot of tutorials so make sure you go through them depending on the wallet you're using. I am using Coinbase for my domains because I am trying to diversify the platforms I use. It took a few days for my domains to actually appear as NFTs in my wallet. It was supposed to just take a few minutes but due to network on the Polygon blockchain, many people were experiencing delay in their transactions.

- The recommended web hosting is Pinata Cloud, powered by InterPlanetary File System or better-known as "IPFS". You can only upload HTML, CSS and JS files at the moment so PHP will not work or would be very limited. It is important to remember that IPFS is a P2P file sharing system and public network so upload files that you don't mind sharing. My first-choice would be to store my files on Internet Computer but I haven't figured out how to do that yet so stay tuned. Initially I went through the Fleek + Github route, but couldn't figure out how to link my crypto domain to that (the final step of the process requires domain name verification using CNAME records and crypto domains don't have that option at the moment.

- After uploading your web files and launching the website on UD, it should take a short while to propagate and then it should be up. I'm reading online that Brave Browser and Opera are already Web 3.0-ready in that the crypto domains should load on these browsers. Not sure about Opera but I'm already using Brave and my domain did not load. I had to install the UD extension. So in case your domain isn't loading, you might want to try that workaround.

On a final note for today, Pinata Cloud offers free storage of up to 1GB which is quite a lot for a static domain name I think. They offer $0.15 per GB if you need more than that.

Welcome to Version3.x - Join me in my journey exploring all things Web 3.0! I am pro-decentralization in all sectors and believe that the decentralization movement is the ultimate pro-choice, pro-freedom and the future of technology, finance, health, tourism, entertainment, and anything else you can think of.

My name is Sabrina and I am based in the remote island of Seychelles where blockchain is almost unheard of, and crypto is unregulated (for now).

There has been a lot of talk about the possibility of digitalizing our currency (Seychelles Rupee or SCR) in the next few years but I don't know how possible this would be for various reasons that I don't need to mention right now.

When I started building websites and discovered the joys and ease of open-source resources, I was very quickly convinced that freeware and shareware was the future. You develop something that others can use and build on, and they develop something that you can also use and build upon. Unfortunately, I very quickly realized that if I wanted this site to be decentralized, it would have to be limited to HTML, CSS and JS for now. I'll have to plan the design of it later, I just want this up asap.

I am not ready for all this new technology and where the world is headed but I believe that I don't really have a choice but to jump on board and be part of what's imminent.

Everything that I write on this site is subjective and I offer no financial advice. I cite links to all resources used and as much as possible I do not visit nor share links to sites that may be harmful or lack credibility.
